National Arab American Heritage Month is dedicated to celebrating the rich texture of Arab American culture and history. St. Patrick’s Day is more than just a day to wear green and attend parades. It has a much deeper cultural significance, commemorating one of the patron saints of Ireland who initially came to the country as a slave, escaped, and later returned to bring Christianity to Ireland. St. Patrick – who lived more than 1,600 years ago – has been celebrated annually since March 17th became an official feast day in the 17th century. The holiday has since spread across the globe as a day to both honor this history and celebrate Irish heritage and culture.
