About the Friends
The Friends of the Library were founded in the 1970′s to stimulate broader community interest in library resources and encourage participation in library activities. Over the years, membership donations and funds raised from the ongoing book sale and the two annual sales have funded:
- Museum passes
- Book collection
- DVD collection
- Compact discs
- Books on tape and CD
- Videotapes
- AV equipment
- Computer equipment and software
- Creative writing awards
- Library décor and landscaping
- Story time teachers and supplies for children’s programs
- Spring and fall adult programs
- Children’s summer reading program and events
- Library shelving and bookcases
- Two self-checkout stations
- Event & Room Reservation Software
- Teen Study Night Refreshments
